What is Link building ?
Link building is a process referred to the number of inbound links that point to your web site from other websites.
It is recognised by most search engine experts around the world that the number and quality of inbound links pointing to a web site is singularly the most important aspect of search engine optimisation.
Simply put, search engines consider that a link pointing back to a web site from another web site is a vote of authority, and the more votes a web site has for a specific search phrase, the more likely that web site will appear in the first page of the search engine for that specific search phrase.
Link Building is a process of getting links from other web sites pointing back to a web site for a specific search phrase.
There are many factors to consider in the link building process, but these are the three most important points.
1) the anchor text matches the search phrase – this is the actual text in the link
2) the links come from different web sites – only 1 link counts from a web site
3) the pages (on the other websites) with the back links on them are indexed and cached by Google.
There are many other factors that add some value to back links, but unless you have all these three important points in place, a link does not count.
ONID uses link building tools developed in partnership with UOOTEK to manage the link building process which have proved very successful.
There are live management reports showing the total number of back links in place, and the number of back links indexed and cached in Google. ONID only counts a back link when it is included in the Google index and cached.
A second management report shows which position in Google your web site is listed for a specific key word.
There are some SEO activities that are not the same
Directory Submissions – recently Google in particular removed lots of Directories from its index as they are considered low quality sites. Also the word Submission means just that – a link request may be submitted for inclusion, but that does not mean it will be accepted, or even if it is, that the page with the back link will be indexed by the search engines.
Article submissions – Again, web sites that accept mass amount of articles tend to be low quality sites, and it is unlikely Google will index these pages.
